FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yale, I have questions!

Don't worry, I've got you covered! I've put together a list of my most commonly asked questions in the hopes that they'll help you with yours as well! Please email me if you have a question that isn't answered here. I want to assist you as much as possible in this journey!

Where are you located?

I consider myself extremely fortunate to be able to call Banff National Park my official workplace! I occasionally switch offices to Canmore and Kananaskis Country (both of which are equally stunning), but my primary focus is on Banff and Lake Louise. I'm lucky to have the best job in the world!

I'm engaged! How do I get started?

First and foremost, allow me to pop a bottle of champagne for you because you deserve a hearty congratulations! Whoop whoop! This is going to be a fantastic adventure! It would be an utter honour and privilege to stand beside you on your wedding day and catch every smile, laugh, tear, embrace, kiss, dance, twerk (the list goes on, within reason) !

To get the party started, fill out a form on the "CONTACT" tab, which you can find here! After that, I'll contact you to give you my complete pricing guide. We will then get on the phone to chat about the specifics of your wedding, answer any questions you may have, and set a date!

P.S. I am currently booking for 2021 and 2022!

What should I expect during my session?

One of the most commonly asked questions I get is this one. And one that I'd be curious about as well! When this question is asked, it typically means "I've never had professional photos taken before" or "I'm awkward/nervous in front of the camera" - and it's one of my favourites to answer because I always say, "It doesn't matter!"

You won't be stiffly posed or nervously standing in an uncomfortable position long enough to wonder what your hands are meant to do. I'm sure you've had enough of that with school photos. Expect to be reminded of the power and beauty of your love story by laughing until it hurts and running around like weirdos. I will never try to change you into something you aren't; instead, I will give you the freedom to be the fullest version of yourself because I believe that's where beautiful imagery emerges. This isn’t a photoshoot for Vogue, you’re much more interesting than that. 😉

You'll leave with hundreds of photographs that capture the full scope of you and your story. And believe me when I say you're going to look A M A Z I N G!

What should I wear to my session?

My ultimate aim is for your photos to represent the most authentic version of yourself, so my standard response to this question is that you have the freedom to be yourself and get creative about what you wear for your session. I'd even let you dress up in a Halloween costume if you wanted to! All I ask is that you wear something as it gets cold in the mountains! 😁

But if you ask for my tips, I recommend the following:

  • Neutrals such as blush, tans, link pinks, faint blues and teals, creams, grays and whites all create a light and clean look to your photos. These colors photograph softer and more romantically!

  • If you’re looking for a soft, feminine look, I recommend a flowing, maxi-length dress or skirt! The movement of this type of fabric photographs beautifully!

  • For guys, I recommend that you avoid super small patterns! These small patterns can create strange visual effects in a digital camera. Close-toed shoes are great and I recommend avoiding graphic tees and tennis shoes.

  • Gals, I recommend that you wear something that flatters the parts of you that you love the most and also allows you to be extremely confident! If you are uncomfortable when you look in the mirror (having to suck in and only like the way you look from one angle), then that probably isn’t the best outfit choice for you. I want you to be confident in your outfit because I know that you will love your portraits so much more if you’re not worrying about how your clothes fit!

How will I be receiving my photos?

So, your session went off without a hitch, and now you're counting down the days before you get your gallery, and you're losing sleep over it. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating. 🤪

Nonetheless, all of your images will be sent to you in an online, user-friendly gallery framework called Pixieset, which I use. You'll be able to view, favourite, and download images from your session from there.

These galleries aren't going to last forever, so save them to a secure location as soon as possible. Another rule of thumb is to avoid screenshotting as far as possible, despite how convenient and efficient it is. The only way to keep the images' quality is to download them!

As always, if you have any questions or encounter any difficulties, I am always around.

I'm ready to book you! What's next?

YAY! I'm so stoked to be working with you!

Go to the 'CONTACT' tab, fill out the form, tell me a little about yourself, and hit send. You should hear from me as soon as possible!

Following that, you'll receive my full pricing guide, we'll plan your ideal session, and I'll do everything in my power to make that dream a reality. Then I'll go full genie mode and set the date, time, and place, after which I'll give you a contract to review. Then it'll be time for your big day or adventure to begin.

I’ll be here to assist you along the way and answer any questions you may have. I might struggle with ‘what is the meaning of life’ but you get the picture. 😅

You ready?
